Listen to the interview with Mads Tolling on KHMB radio here.

Join Grammy Award–winning violinist Mads Tolling and acclaimed pianist Adam Klipple for an electrifying concert that bridges jazz, classical, and cinematic music. Tolling’s virtuosic violin playing—by turns fiery, lyrical, and playful—meets Klipple’s richly textured piano artistry in a dynamic musical conversation. Together they explore the music from Mads’acclaimed album, Playing the 60s, which features music from 1960’s TV shows, movie and radio hits. The two will also dive into Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, as well as a few original compositions, and standards. At the core are imaginative interpretations, blending improvisation with elegant melodies and rhythmic drive. Expect a night of storytelling through sound, technical brilliance, and heartfelt expression that captivates both jazz lovers and new listeners alike.

Mads Tolling is a two-time Grammy Award-Winning Violinist and Composer. He is the 2016 winner of DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star Award for the violin and SF Classical Voice 2023,and 2025 Jazz Performer. Mads is a former long-time member of bassist Stanley Clarke's Band and the Turtle Island Quartet, and he currently tours and appears on three albums with Bob Weir & Wolf Bros. He leads his own group, Mads Tolling & The Mads Men with hundreds of performances worldwide. He has been featured on NPR's Morning Edition and in the Washington Post, and he has performed with Chick Corea, Kenny Barron, Ramsey Lewis, Paquito D'Rivera and Leo Kottke.
