December 10, 2022: Holiday Dinner and Roll Call
As in past years the Lodge looked beautiful with special decorations and gorgeous floral arrangements. The food was fabulous. It was a truly special night.
October 27, 2022: Cemetery Stroll
Luminaries lined the way for the 20 some people who enjoyed this year’s Cemetery Stroll. Organized by Gail and Frederick Nelson-Bonebrake, guests included four generations of the Golda family and Boy Scouts, who helped clean the cemetery. Established in 1875, the Odd Fellows graveyard served as the final resting place for non-Catholics as well as suicide victims, indigents, and sailors who had washed ashore. Every year Ocea View Lodge 143 organizes a stroll and shares stories about those who are buried there.

Congratulations to Michelle and Mitzi Hernandez who are sophomores at UC Berkeley and both hope to become medical doctors.
The HMB-ODD Foundation has awarded each of the students a $500 scholarship. The Youth Services Committee of Ocean View Lodge has done the same, which is why each of the twins received two checks.
Katherine Polk, representing the HMB-ODD Foundation and Larkin Evans, representing the Youth Services Committee, made the presentation to these two deserving scholars.
Your generous tax-deductible donation to the HMB-ODD Foundation will help us continue to support deserving local youth in their pursuit of higher education.

The Magnificent Seven
Seven elected Initiates became Members of Ocean View Lodge #143, HMB Odd Fellows, in a hybrid ceremony. The in-person at-the-Lodge ceremony had no physical contact, was shortened and the Initiation Team limited in number to increase protection during these Pandemic times. After the Initiation Ceremony a group picture was taken and socialization with refreshments ensued.
The Zoom meeting started at 7:30 with about 20 members attending on Zoom. The new Members introduced each other on Zoom to existing Members. Then, new Members were sent to Zoom Rooms with smaller groups of members to give members a chance to visit in small groups. Our Chaplin gave us a Minute for Reflection and our Vice Grand ended with a recitation of the Odd Fellows Creed.
